چکیده

Introduction: Coconut shell liquid smoke (CS-LS) from Cocos nucifera L. has been traditionally used by Indonesians as a natural preservative. Besides that, is also medicine to treat various types of wounds. During the storage, resulting pyrolysis still questionable in relation oxidation process and changes its properties potentials. We observed physical characteristics, components, toxicity, anti-inflammatory, anti-nociceptive properties, effect oral ulcer healing CS-LS. Methods: Acidity was analyzed using digital pH meter, density test pycnometer, components were determined gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). Eight concentrations CS-LS (1%, 2%, 4%, 6%, 8%, 10%, 12%, 14%) tested on baby hamster kidney (BHK21) for extract carrageenan-induced rat paw edema anti-inflammatory hot-plate anti-nociceptive, traumatized labial fornix incisive inferior healing. Results: The acidity 2.296 1.0102 g/mL. major phenol (32.75%), 2-methoxy-phenol (17.45%), furfural (13.09%). 100% 8% optimum maintaining BHK21 increasing number fibroblasts showed potent ability compared other (P = 0.001), but not anti-inflammation properties. Conclusion: promising herb medicine, especially medicine.

Coconut Shell Liquid Smoke Promotes Burn Wound Healing

The aim of this study was to evaluate burn wound healing activity of coconut shell liquid smoke (CS-LS) in a burn wound animal model. Burn wound-induced mice were treated with CS-LS (CS-LS group), povidone iodine 10% (povidone group), or NaCl 0.9% (NaCl group). Application of CS-LS promoted wound contraction compared to that of the povidone and NaCl groups (P < .05). This study showed a positiv...
